Every woman likes to think they are in control of their body - when I found out I was pregnant in 2005, I told myself I would be one of those women who continued to exercise (in moderation) to stay trim and fit throughout my pregnancy. But soon enough I was struck with the reality of morning sickness, hormones, and eventually feeling too big and uncomfortable to get out of bed.
Hiding behind the extra weight of carrying a baby worked well for a while, but after giving birth to my beautiful son Andrew in April 2006, I was alarmed to discover I was a very long way from fitting back into my old clothes again.
Finding the time and motivation to care about my own health and wellbeing was hard enough, while coping with the stresses of caring for my beautiful little bundle of joy. And now I am discovering this all over again, with the arrival of my beautiful daughter Caitlin in July 2009!
I have realized how difficult it is for new mums to find the information, support and motivation that they need to start looking and feeling good about themselves again.
Hence the creation of Bouncing Back After Baby.
